The World Of Alice Palmer

Discovering Alice Palmer & Her Stunning Designs: A Journey of Colour and Comfort

How I discovered Alice Palmer is no secret. When the world came to a standstill during the lockdown, many of us found ourselves spending more time at home. The usual hustle and bustle of everyday life slowed down, and suddenly, the space we call home became more significant. For me, this was the moment I began to truly appreciate the power of design in creating an environment that feels not just comfortable but inspiring. It was during this time that I stumbled upon the work of Alice Palmer, and it changed the way I looked at home decor forever.

The First Encounter With Alice Palmer: A Discovery that Sparked Joy

It was on one of those quiet afternoons, scrolling through design inspiration online, that I first discovered Alice Palmer I loved her stunning collection of homewares. Alice Palmer’s designs have a unique way of blending traditional craftsmanship with bold modern flair, and her pieces are unmistakable in their beauty. What caught my eye immediately were the box pleat lampshades, particularly the ones with bold stripes.

I had never seen anything quite like them. The vibrant colours, the intricate patterns, and the overall craftsmanship were absolutely mesmerizing. The way the stripes seemed to dance on the fabric spoke to me on a deeper level. It wasn’t just a lampshade—it was an expression of style and personality. It was something I had been missing in my own home.

The Tangier Stripe: A Game-Changer in Home Decor

As I explored Alice Palmer’s designs further, one particular piece stood out above the rest: the Tangier stripe. This bold, beautiful pattern became a cornerstone in my journey to inject more colour into my otherwise neutral space. I had always been drawn to calming, muted tones for my decor—think whites, greys, and beige. But there was something about the Tangier stripe that challenged me to step outside my comfort zone.

The design features a dynamic blend of colours that seem to evoke warmth and energy all at once. The rich hues of orange, red, and cream created the perfect pop of colour against my otherwise minimalist living room. It was striking, vibrant, and full of life—and it made my space feel instantly more alive.

The Tangier stripe became the focal point of my living room, and I could feel the atmosphere shift the moment I added it. It wasn’t just a lampshade anymore; it was the statement piece that sparked a complete transformation in my home. I found myself thinking about colour in a completely new way. Suddenly, the thought of bringing in bold tones, patterns, and textures didn’t feel intimidating—it felt like an exciting opportunity to personalize my space even more.

A Love Affair with Alice Palmer’s Styled Home

As I continued to browse Alice Palmer’s collection, I began to realize that my love for the Tangier stripe was just the beginning. The more I explored, the more I fell in love with her entire ethos of design. Alice Palmer’s creations go beyond simple decoration; they tell a story, they evoke emotion, and they breathe life into every room they touch. Her designs are playful yet elegant, bold yet timeless, and they all seem to carry a sense of warmth and comfort.

The more I looked at her pieces, the more I understood the idea behind her work. Alice Palmer believes in creating pieces that are not only visually appealing but that also bring a sense of joy, comfort, and ease to a space. Her designs are about creating a home that feels lived in and loved, where every corner is a reflection of your personal style and taste. This philosophy resonated with me on a deep level. I realized that home decor doesn’t have to be serious or overly formal. It’s about creating a space that makes you feel good, that welcomes you, and that makes you smile every time you walk into the room.

The Shift in My Approach to Home Decor

Inspired by Alice Palmer’s designs, I began to rethink my entire approach to home decor. I realized that I had been playing it safe for too long. My home, while comfortable, lacked personality and character. It was time for a change, and Alice Palmer’s designs gave me the courage to embrace more colour, texture, and creativity in my living space.

Now, when I shop for soft furnishings or home decor, I always keep Alice Palmer’s ethos in mind. It means looking for pieces that will make my home feel relaxed and welcoming. But also full of life and personality. I no longer hesitate to mix bold patterns with more subtle textures. I embrace the idea that a well-decorated home is one that makes you feel happy and at ease. Whether it’s a quirky patterned cushion, a striking piece of artwork, or a colourful rug. I now choose pieces that make a statement and elevate the mood of the room.

One of the most important lessons I’ve learned from Alice Palmer’s designs is the importance of creating a home that feels like you. It’s about being intentional with your choices and curating a space that brings you joy. After all, your home is a reflection of who you are. It should make you feel comfortable, inspired, and at peace.

Creating a Relaxed and Welcoming Atmosphere – The Alice Palmer Way

As I embraced Alice Palmer’s design philosophy. I began to notice a shift not just in the aesthetic of my home. But in the way I felt in it. The vibrant colours and patterns added a sense of liveliness and energy, but they also made the space feel more relaxed and inviting. I could now entertain friends and family in a space that was full of personality and warmth. It was no longer just a place to live. My home became a place to connect, to relax, and to enjoy life.

The sense of comfort and relaxation that Alice Palmer’s designs bring is truly unmatched. It’s about more than just aesthetics—it’s about creating a space that nurtures your well-being and enhances your everyday experience. With every new piece I added to my home, I found myself feeling more at ease and more in tune with the energy of my space.

The Lasting Impact of Alice Palmer’s Style

As I reflect on how much my home has changed since I discovered Alice Palmer’s designs. I realize how much of an impact her work has had on my life. It’s not just about adding colour or decorating a room—it’s about creating an environment that feels like home. Alice Palmer’s ethos of blending beauty, comfort, and joy has reshaped how I think about design. I’s something that I’ll carry with me for years to come.

In the end, my love affair with Alice Palmer’s styled home has been about more than just filling my space with beautiful things—it’s been about creating a home that makes me feel happy, relaxed, and inspired every day. And that’s what true home decor is all about.

At the grocer’s, the cheerful sight of daffodils—bright and vibrant—seemed to sing of spring’s arrival, their yellow petals a stark contrast to the grey of recent days. There’s a quiet joy in these small, sudden moments, reminders that the seasons are shifting. The air feels lighter, carrying with it whispers of renewal and growth. It’s almost here—the change we’ve been waiting for—and with it comes hope, warmth, and the return of life in full bloom.

Yet, even in the stillness, life stirs softly. Walking along a garden path, you notice the first brave signs of spring—tiny green shoots piercing the cold, dark earth. These bulbs, dormant for months, are the quiet promise of renewal, their emergence a whisper of the seasons’ inevitable turning. The sight sparks hope, a reminder that even in winter’s grasp, the warmth of spring waits, ready to awaken the world in its gentle time.

As a summer girl at heart, the chill of winter oft As a summer girl at heart, the chill of winter often feels like an endless stretch of grey, and by the time January draws to a close, my patience begins to wane. Though each season has its beauty, winter’s starkness can feel heavy, and I yearn for the warmth and vibrancy of sunnier days. The moment I spot bunches of daffodils for sale in the shops, my heart skips with joy. Those cheerful blooms, with their sunny yellow petals, are the first whispers of spring, a promise that the world will soon awaken from its slumber. Seeing them fills me with a dance of glee, knowing that the days of walking barefoot, soaking in the sun, and feeling grounded in nature are just around the corner.

Watching each season transition into the next is magical, but my spirit thrives in the light and warmth of the longer days. Winter would be easier to bear if it were shorter, but as the weeks drag on, I find myself eagerly scanning the world for signs of change. The bare branches of trees, the frost on the ground, and the early sunsets start to lose their charm by late January, making me crave the soft greens and pastel blossoms of spring. With each daffodil I see and each day that grows a little longer, my anticipation grows. Soon, the world will come alive again, and so will I, shedding the heaviness of winter like an old coat and stepping into the joy of sunnier seasons. #CotswoldLiving

I have a secret hobby that feels like a delightful I have a secret hobby that feels like a delightful escape—a journey into the endless possibilities of imaginary dreams. It starts innocently enough, just a little browse on Rightmove, but before I know it, I’ve whisked myself off to explore enchanting places far from my everyday life. Italy, with its sun-soaked countryside and rustic villas, or France, where charming stone farmhouses dot the landscape, always seem to call out to me. Closer to home, I imagine myself in the idyllic beauty of England’s Cotswolds, the rolling hills of Devon, or the timeless elegance of Bath. Each place is like a blank canvas, sparking visions of a new life, filled with picturesque mornings and cosy evenings.

But no matter how vivid my daydreams become, reality always pulls me back to what truly matters—my family, who are here and irreplaceable. Their presence is my anchor, a priceless treasure that no dreamy villa or countryside retreat could ever replace. Still, that doesn’t stop me from indulging in the “what ifs.” I let my imagination wander through how I would redesign a home, from the cosy nooks to the grand open spaces, painting each room with a fresh sense of purpose and style. It’s a harmless pleasure, a creative outlet that lets me dream while keeping my heart firmly planted where it belongs. #DaylesfordFarm

I have found myself reflecting on how much joy rea I have found myself reflecting on how much joy reading brings to my life and how I long to make more time for it. There’s something profoundly comforting about sitting in the quiet, turning the pages of a beautifully crafted book. Whether it’s a cookbook filled with tantalizing recipes, an interior design guide brimming with inspiration, or even a children’s story shared with George, each moment spent reading feels like a small, meaningful escape. This year was the discovery of Skye McAlpine’s @skyemcalpine recipe books which have been a particular delight—not only for the dishes they inspire but for their ability to transport me to the romantic streets of Venice, a city I dream of visiting one day.
Also I have bought them as gifts for culinary friends.
I’m setting the intention to read more mindfully and make it a regular part of my routine. Looking back, one of my favorite memories of the past year was curling up with George and delving into the world of Brambly Hedge. Those moments reminded me how books create connections and spark imagination. Going forward, I want to carve out uninterrupted time for these escapes, whether exploring the vivid world of a cookbook, discovering new stories, or revisiting old favorites. Reading isn’t just a hobby; it’s a way to slow down, to dream, and to savor life’s quieter pleasures.

Hosting the annual family get-together this year I Hosting the annual family get-together this year I felt like bringing the outdoors inside, inspired by the serene woodlands I often wander near our home. The earthy tones and textures of nature set the stage for this evening, with rustic wooden platters, mossy greens firs, and flickering candles. adorning the space. I wanted the atmosphere to feel organic and inviting, and the decor perfectly mirrored the calm yet vibrant essence of the woods. The highlight of my preparations, however, was attempting @skyemcalpine ‘s Panettone Cake. While I approached it nervously, imagining it to be a daunting task, it turned out to be delightfully simple to create—an effortless showstopper that will be admired and relished.

When it comes to creating ambiance, I hold fast to the philosophy that more is more, especially with candlelight. There’s something uniquely comforting and magical about the warm flicker of countless candles that makes any gathering feel intimate and special. I scattered them generously throughout the room, their soft glow amplifying the woodland theme while adding a soothing, relaxed energy to the evening. The combination of nature-inspired decor, the irresistible Panettone Cake, and an abundance of candlelight came together to create a gathering that will hopefully memorable and heartwarming—a celebration of family and the simple joys of life. This summer, we enjoyed a long weekend in the Cots This summer, we enjoyed a long weekend in the Cotswolds, a trip that’s quickly becoming an annual tradition. We kicked it off by watching the charming and nostalgic @officialgiffordscircus —a family favourite for its warm, old-fashioned spirit. Afterward, we wound our way through the scenic country lanes to Cheltenham, where we stayed with Daniel’s aunt and uncle. The weekend was full of family time, and as luck would have it again, the sun shone brightly, allowing for plenty of meals outdoors. Auntie Ann’s cooking, which could easily rival Michelin standards, over the years it has inspired me to get creative in the kitchen and visit the local markets for fresh food. It was lovely to watch the family grow, especially seeing George so fond of his new little cousin, Roman.

Each summer visit, I like to explore a village I haven’t yet seen. This time, we chose Bourton-on-the-Water and arrived just before the coach crowds, giving me a chance to snap some picturesque shots of the quaint stone bridges. George even tested the stream with his toes, though it was too chilly for a full dip. When the crowds became overwhelming, we decided to move on to @daylesfordfarm , one of my favorite spots for culinary & interior inspiration, before wrapping up our weekend and heading back home.
This weekend is perfect for planting the spring bu This weekend is perfect for planting the spring bulbs I picked up—two large bags full of daffodils and mini narcissus that will bring bright bursts of colour when winter fades. As we approach late autumn, it’s the ideal time to get these bulbs in the ground, giving them just enough chill in the soil to set roots before spring. With shorter, crisper days on the horizon, it’s a satisfying feeling to tuck them in now, knowing they’ll be quietly transforming beneath the soil as we pass through the colder months. Planting now means a little extra work, but the reward is worth it—soon enough, those first signs of green will start peeking through.

The anticipation of spring keeps me going through the winter, and nothing signals its arrival quite like the sight of daffodils. As soon as I start spotting them in the grocers, I know that spring is just around the corner, and it fills me with a renewed sense of hope and excitement. There’s something magical about watching bulbs come to life, transforming a dull, bare garden into a scene of cheerful yellows and whites. Each bulb I plant feels like a small promise of brighter, warmer days to come, and counting down to that first bloom gives me a reason to look forward, even on the frostiest days.

Swapping out summer linens for heavier throws and earthy tones, along with rustic accents like baskets of pinecones or gourds, creates warmth indoors. The shift in decor mirrors nature’s palette of deep oranges, browns, and reds, grounding the space in seasonal beauty.

With the arrival of cooler weather, lighting fires and candles becomes central to creating comfort. The crackling of logs and flicker of candlelight add warmth and tranquility, while scented candles with hints of cinnamon or apple evoke the essence of autumn. Together, fires and candles set a serene mood, turning your home into a haven as the season changes. As summer fades into autumn, the bright, airy feel As summer fades into autumn, the bright, airy feeling of the home subtly transforms, bringing warmth and comfort to interiors. The vibrant energy of summer softens, making way for richer textures and cosier atmospheres, even as we stick with timeless hues like blues and whites. The change of season calls for layering textiles, from soft throws draped over chairs to elegant linens on the dining table. @angelawicksteadhome fresh linens, in their delicate, refined beauty, pair perfectly with the cooler tones of the season, offering a crisp yet welcoming backdrop to intimate gatherings.

On the tablescape, @burleighpottery with its classic blue and white patterns, adds a sense of tradition and charm, complementing the seasonal shift. The contrast of cool blues against the autumnal ambiance feels refreshing yet grounded. To give the table a personal, seasonal touch, homemade pumpkins in pastel blue create a whimsical, elegant focal point. These subtle, handcrafted accents add both a seasonal nod and a harmonious aesthetic that ties together the entire look, blending the freshness of summer with the warmth and beauty of autumn.

There’s something special about gathering around the table, passing dishes, and connecting after a long day. When lunchtime arrived the only available place seemed to be a car park, far from the idyllic setting we had imagined. Unwilling to settle, we decided to explore further and ventured through a nearby gate, uncertain of what lay ahead. As we walked, the landscape gradually unfolded before us, revealing a breathtaking vista of rolling hills and quintessential Cotswold scenery. The unexpected beauty took our breath away, and we were soon surrounded by the tranquil sights and sounds of the countryside.

The scene that greeted us felt like a painting brought to life, with sheep grazing peacefully and cows lounging against the backdrop of lush green hills. The expansive view stretched out in every direction, each detail more enchanting than the last. We spread our picnic blanket amidst this magical setting, feeling a deep connection with nature. The serenity of the moment enveloped us, turning what started as a frustrating search into a memory we would cherish forever. Adding a little cuteness to dippy eggs & soliders Adding a little cuteness to dippy eggs & soliders this week with a little help from @merimeriparty . And the sweetest book that my sister would read to my niece has now been given to George from his cousin as a gift. I think I was more excited over this token of love than George was. But now I get to read to him all the stories missing from his Peter Rabbit library. Meanwhile, I’ve always found myself eagerly awaiting the arrival of Spring, often declaring each year that I’ll fully embrace the winter season, only to abandon that sentiment by December 5th. Yet, this year has been a pleasant deviation from the norm. Anticipating my usual December shift, I was caught off guard. I’ve been captivated by the beauty of the winter sun, the intricate frost patterns during my morning walks after dropping off George at school. Even moments like watching the rain lash down in the warmth of my home by a roaring fire, or listening to the howling winds while being tucked up snug in my bed have held a certain charm. While my heart still belongs to spring and summer, this winter has granted me a newfound appreciation for its unique beauty. Yesterday I spotted the first bunch of Daffodils in Marks & Spencer’s, I gasped a joyful gasp and thankfully refrained from clapping like an excited seal upon discovery.
